Enjoy

play the right way
Bergholt Heath is a friendly, family centred charter standard football club offering opportunities for boys and girls to play football. Developing children first as individuals, and then as footballers, is at the centre of what we set out to achieve. The club are keen for children to compete as a team at the level appropriate to each team.
More important than that though are the opportunities given to children to develop and improve as individuals and to enjoy playing. We believe that children should be taught to play football the right way, specifically; valuing sportsmanship above success, contributing as part of a team and becoming footballers who are confident in possession of the ball first as individuals and then as part of a team.
In order to achieve this, we believe it is vital that coaches, parents and children work together, with a clear understanding of what each can do to help ensure children enjoy, improve and play the right way. What is expected of all involved is outlined in:
• How we coach
• How we play
• How we support
At Bergholt Heath the welfare of our players is also of great importance. Training and matches take place in a safe and encouraging environment and are led by managers or coaches who have completed the introduction to coaching football (level 1) football coaching qualification, or higher, including emergency first aid and safeguarding courses.
All coaches undergo a DBS check.
