Our Under 13 team is managed by Gareth Minter (an FA Level 2 coach and a primary school teacher). They train on the Poors field every Saturday between 10:15 and 11:45. The team is made up predominantly of children who have been training and playing with the team since they were four years old, with some new children joining the team for the coming season.

As the children have grown older they have begun to show a greater desire to compete in matches, but the priority remains enjoying their football . Children are still encouraged to stay on the ball and take players on, but have also begun to learn the importance of working for each other, being available when they don't have the ball and passing to team mates to advance up the pitch. This season the team begin to play 11 a side football, and have already learned how this comes with a new set of challenges. All of the team are looking forward to getting going in the league again; we continue to play in the Colchester and District C league. To see how they are getting on click here.
