committee members
club welfare officers
Name: Rachel Harden and Karen Minter
Role: Every youth sports organisation has a ‘Child Welfare Officer’. We have the responsibility for checking that all of the volunteer adults involved in the club and working with the youngsters meet the strict requirements from the FA for child welfare – this includes a DBS check before they start with the club, (which is then updated every 3 years) training, advice and updates.
We also support the team managers and trainers in any incidents or concerns. We can then liaise with the Essex FA as required to ensure all the young players are kept safe.
We attend regular training with the Essex FA which is complimented by our experience of working in schools as teachers. This ensures that our skill set is maintained and supports the club in decisions to best meet the needs of all involved.
Please feel free to make contact with us if you would like to discuss or report any concerns. All parental, child and club volunteer concerns are taken seriously by the club and dealt with in the confidence appropriate to the individual situation.

chairman
Name: Gareth Minter and Jamie Bowden
Role: As Co-Chairman of Bergholt Heath, our role is to be the first point of contact for the club and ensure that the club operates in accordance with its values and for the benefit of its members. The direction of the club is our responsibility, along with other members of the committee, and we re keen to guide our fast growing club into the future while enabling it to continue to be an enjoyable place for those children currently playing. This includes reviewing the club's values to ensure they remain consistent with how the club intends to approach it's delivery of youth football, and supporting managers, coaches, children and parents in understanding those values and how they impact on their own approach to football at Bergholt Heath. It also includes attending meetings relevant to the facilities the club has available to train and play matches to ensure the club can continue to grow in the future. We are also keen to be available to parents, and children, involved at the club to support them and work with them to ensure every team can offer an environment for children to enjoy, improve and play the right way.

Football development coordinators
Name: Gareth Minter, Jamie Bowden and Paul Matthews
Role: Our role at the club is to support managers and coaches in improving the training they offer and how best to approach matches at different age groups. We do this in a number of ways, including offering in house training on coaching approaches, both from a practical and theoretical point of view and attending training sessions and/or team coaching different age groups. This would also include how to approach match day, with a specific focus on how best to support the children playing during a match through the warm up and the managers/coaches approach to the match. We are also available to support managers in any matters relating to administrative tasks involved in running a team and communicating with parents, as well as being a contact point for parents to discuss their child's experience playing for the club. We are also available to help managers with any potentially difficult situations that may arise relating to their team to ensure the matter is resolved quickly and to a point where everyone is happy, wherever possible.
